Location
Queen Elizabeth bush lodge is located in Queen Elizabeth National park in western Uganda on the edge of Kazinga channel that connects Lake Edward to Lake George.
Distance from the city or Entebbe airport
Queen Elizabeth bush lodge can be accessed by air which takes less than an hour to Mweya airstrip.
It can also be accessed by road transport means via to Katungulu gate approximately 420km or 6 hours drive.
Queen Elizabeth bush lodge is an accommodation with Bandas, non-self-contained tents and self-contained tents built-in African styles with grass-thatched rooftops. The Bandas are constructed on raised platforms of wood together with other local materials to make the travellers feel the real experience of the wilderness touch.
Type of rooms
The lodge offers 3 different accommodation types which include Bandas, non-self-contained tents and self-contained tents.
- Bandas
There are 12 self- constructed on a raised wooden platform of local material with big mosquito netted windows that allow the beautiful views of the park’s natural environment and wildlife.
- Self-contained tents
Self-contained tents are mostly recommended to guests who want to experience the jungle life and adventurous travellers. They are also recommended to families with children and also to guests with their own cars since moving at night is not allowed.
- Non-self-contained tents
The non-self-contained tents are 10 in number which provide a budget-friendly accommodation to guests with tents containing comfortable beds and linen beddings, table, power, shared flashing toilets among others with a natural viewing shade.

Queen Elizabeth bush lodge offers a variety of both international and local food to the guests with soft drinks and normally served at the campfire.
Queen Elizabeth also has experienced and well-trained staff with exceptional services and good customer care.
Tourist activities
- Game drives
Take a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National park to see a lot of game such as elephants, leopards, bush pigs, tree climbing lions in ishasha sector, waterbucks, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes among others, the park’s vegetation and the crater lakes
- Boat trips
Take a boat cruise on Kazinga channel and enjoy more wild animals like crocodiles, hippopotamus, buffaloes, elephants and many bird species like grey-headed kingfisher, flamingoes, Nubian woodpecker among others.
- Bird watching
With over 600 bird species in Queen Elizabeth National park, and also a known destination for birding in Uganda, bird species in Queen Elizabeth National park can be seen Maramagambo forest, Lake kikorongo, katwe areas, ishasha sector and mweya peninsular.
- Chimpanzee trekking
Chimpanzee trekking in Queen Elizabeth National park is done from Kyambura gorge in Maramagambo forest with the most primates including chimpanzee which share 98% of human DNA. Habituated chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge is a major tourist activity in Uganda after gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable National park and Mgahinga National park.
Nature walks
Nature walks are carried out along the Mweya peninsular which offers chances to the travellers to watch wild animals, crater lakes and the park’s natural beautiful vegetation.
